With the development and improvement of technology, most of the currently produced heating bands use round tube blanks. The production cost of the round tube blank is lower than that of the rolled round tube blank, and because of its good surface quality, the heating ring used for production has fewer surface defects. Round tube billets are generally produced by vertical machines, arc machines and horizontal machines. The round tube blanks produced by the vertical machine and the arc machine are larger in size, while the round tube blanks produced by the horizontal machine are smaller. Tube blank is different from die casting. It is a continuous casting process with the following obvious characteristics and advantages.

 

(1) High yield. The use of suitable methods to produce round tube blanks eliminates the residual steel loss of the middle injection tube and the soup tube when the tube blank is produced by die casting, and improves the yield of molten steel. At the same time, because the steel ingot does not require a heat preservation cap, it is no longer necessary Removal of the head of the steel ingot can increase the yield by 10%-15%.

 

(2) Improved production conditions. The production of round tube blanks has a much higher degree of mechanization and automation than die casting production, which greatly improves labor intensity.

 

(3) The process is simplified. Suitable methods are used to produce round tube billets, eliminating the need for intermediate steps such as demolding and ingot in the die casting process. Especially when steel ingots cannot be directly used for pipe rolling, it is necessary to heat and rough-roll (forge) the die-cast steel ingots, which increases the production process. Obviously, the production process of the round tube blank is simpler and the production cost is lower.

 

(4) Save energy. In the production of round billets, once the hot delivery and hot charging process is realized, part of the fuel required for heating of the billets can be omitted, thus greatly reducing energy consumption. It can be seen that the round tube billet directly used in the production of heating bands has brought a profound revolution to the heating band manufacturing industry due to its low cost and good quality.

 

At present, there are still certain difficulties in producing tube blanks with extra large and small cross-sections by suitable processes, so that large pipe jacking units and small pipe rolling units have to still use steel ingots and rolled (forged) billets as tube blanks; and some It is not suitable for high-alloy steel produced by the process or small-batch tube blanks that are not economically produced. Rolling (forging) round tube blanks, electroslag ingots or centrifugal casting hollow round tube blanks can only be used as rolled tube blanks. In addition, round tube billets have gradually replaced steel ingots and rolled (forged) round tube billets to produce heating bands. Even the periodic tube rolling mills that were originally believed to be most suitable for directly using steel ingots to produce heating bands have already used a large number of round tube billet rolling.

 

Whether it is using steel ingots, rolling (forging) round tube blanks, or centrifugal casting of round hollow tube blanks, or using round tube blanks to produce heating rings, the heating rings may be caused by quality defects of the tube blanks.
